So I lied to you guys.

I definitely downloaded a lot of OFWGKTA's music and maaan is it crazy. It's so vulgar, so offensive, so twisted, so... different. They remind me of early Eminem excvept there's like 8 of them and they're black. There are still a few things that I don't agree with as far as their content goes but I just had to share the two songs that were on repeat for me today.

1) AssMilk - Tyler, The Creator ft. Earl Sweatshirt

That nigga Earl is so ugly. Like, hideous.


Let's start with the beat. The swanky piano leads the way over a nice and steady beat with Earl dropping rhymes in the slick manner that we're so used to. Then the music begins to tremor, it almost sounds like an evil version of the music that plays on Mario (for regular Nintendo) when you get the star, and in comes Tyler with his brash, "fuck you" persona. I don't know if I've ever heard anyone deliver a more disturbing set of bars with such coolness and ease. I can listen to this song over and over.

Rihanna haircut, somebody tell Chris Brown to fuck me up."


2) VCR - Tyler, The Creator


This video is straight up creepy. But that's what I love about it. The song is so smooth and seductive. Definitely sexy time music. But if you listen to the lyrics (or watch the video) he's talking about rape. It's interesting to me how someone can take a subject so wrong and present it in such an intriguing manner.

That's what intrigues me about this band. You find yourself listening to their music and thinking, "I shouldn't be listening to this." but for some reason you can't turn it off. Sure people have done this before (early Eminem comes to mind) but the way that they do it is genius. Free Earl!
